How to repair a LCD TV or just buy a new one?.

My LCD TV has a few points that are not responding. It shows how a space at the top of the TV makes a line and goes towards the bottom of the TV. It’s getting worse. Tried all the other inputs and the dreaded line is exactly the same? Can it be repaired and at what cost? Any thoughts or other experiences?
