ICU teachers started boycott of classes

ICU teachers started boycott of classes
Peshawar: The teachers of Islamia College University (ICU) started boycott of classes Tuesday to press the university administration for acceptance of their demands.

There were no classes in the university from 10am to 12 noon. The teachers resorted to protest on the call of the Islamia College University Teachers' Association and pledged to continue their strike till fulfillment of their demands.

The teachers expressed serious concern over what they called the apathy of the university administration. They said the vice-chancellor had earlier made a commitment with them to come to their meeting and try to convince them on winding up of their strike. However, neither the vice-chancellor nor the registrar bothered to attend the meeting.

The protesting teachers were of the opinion that despite lapse of more than one year of the establishment of the university, no single meeting of the varsity senate could be held due to which their promotion cases could not be resolved.

They said that 70 percent of their promotion cases were pending and the university administration was least interested in resolving them. They said that the university should immediately call the senate meeting so that their problems could be resolved.

Katrina Kaif 1-10

Katrina Kaif is the most beautiful actress in Bollywood at the moment. She is perfect in every way - amazing skin, beautiful eyes, lovely mouth and the chic knows how to accentuate her beauty well. Never do you see her wearing what doesn't suit her style both in terms of clothes and makeup.
She reveals her beauty secrets and it is interesting to know what kind of products she uses and what is her beauty regimen. So make sure you note this stuff down in case you wanna be as beautiful as her -
Beauty Regimen"I kick start my day with three to four glasses of water. I excercise. I love swimming, jogging, gymming ? this gives blood circulation a boost and skin feels healthier. My skin behaves well if I use less make-up. A beauty rule that I follow is to always cleanse my face of all make-up, however tired I may be. I use a face wash by Mene & Moy which has two per cent salicylic acid and Lanc?me Cleansing Milk for the face and eyes.? I am addicted to the Purifying Apricot Oil from Anne Semoin. To deal with a beauty emergency I rely on a mineral mud mask by Anne Semoin. It calms my skin."
Makeup"I like to play up my eyes with lots of mascara by Yves Saint Laurent. My look for the coming season is traditional with more emphasis on the eyes with MAC kohl, keeping cheeks and lips neutral with a bronze highlighter from Laura Mercier and a MAC lip gloss in nude."
Clothes"I like to wear Floral summer dresses or tracks and sweatshirts or cargo pants and sleeveless tee shirts during the day I don?t party too often, but when I do, I opt for a Tarun Tahiliani Indo-Western or Rocky S? Westerns. I just cant do without my Lee Jeans."
Interesting!

The glamorous Fall/Winter 2009 Lakme Fashion Week began on March 27, at the Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai. Katrina Kaif walked the ramp dressed as Barbie. A Barbie doll in her likeness would be created soon..THERE COULD not have been a better opening of the Fall/Winter 2009 Lakme Fashion Week than the spectacular "Barbie All Doll'd Up" show that rocked the ramp. It was a perfect combination of style and glamour as 50 years of Barbie was celebrated along with Lakme Fashion Week, the pioneers of the fashion weeks in India having completed a decade.
Dress the Barbie contest attracted 75 entries from top designers in the country from which the 20 short listed creations were showcased on the ramp at the dazzling show.
It was the winning dress by Nishka Lulla that Bollywood's glamorous star Katrina Kaif modeled as the show stopper of the day. Katrina Kaif will be the Indian celebrity on whose likeness a Barbie doll will be created by Mattel Toys India Pvt Ltd.
The Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai with the extra long ramp was dressed in hundreds of metres of the characteristic Barbie pink silk with the famed Barbie logo all around. The venue almost resembled Barbie's pretty house and it was a place where a girl of any age would have loved to be.
Pretty, frothy party dresses and gowns that were a delightful blend of the East and West turned into great fusion wear as they floated down the ramp. Top ramp models were dressed in brilliant creations that could have made Barbie's wardrobe the most envied in the world.
Starting with the Barbie song for the "Plastic and Fantastic Barbie" the accompanying audio visual gave a flash back of Barbie through the five decades and Barbie dolls around the world.

Serene beauty Katrina Kaif is not going to celebrate Valentine's Day with boyfriend Salman Khan but with handsome Ranbir Kapoor. Do not misunderstood Katrina, she is not any sort of love relationship with Ranbir Kapoor but the duo happens to be together on the particular day in connection to their shooting for the movie Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani in Turkey.

Ranbir is planning to make the day special for his beautiful co star by arranging a cozy dinner. After shooting, very often Ranbir and Katrina are spotted having dinner in a restuarant. Though nothing serious is being cooked up between them, they happen to know each other better with every passing day.
Salman also have no plan to surprise Katrina as he will be busy shooting for his forthcoming movie London Dreams with Asin. But whatever it is, Ranbir and Katrina should be cautions of their enemy No 2, Deepika Padukone. She may land anytime, anywhere to check out Ranbir's status.
We wish Katrina and Ranbir a happy and problem free valentine. Enjoy some Wallpapers.

As they get ready for the release of their forthcoming film Yuvraaj, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif gave their first joint interview and answered questions about their love life for the first time. When Katrina was asked whether Salman was a very romantic boyfriend and she promptly replied,
"No. He is not romantic at all. He keeps it all for the screen."
This will be their first serious romance and Katrina confesses that their ideas of romance are very different from each others'.
"I want to go for holidays, but he says its boring to be alone together. He hates candlelight dinners. He wants his food to be ready on the table when he reaches a restaurant. He likes to be surrounded by people."
Katrina also spoke about what she likes about Salman, except for the fact that he is a good looking man,
She says, "Earlier I used to think, models were drop dead lookers. But today I cherish a complete personality. But I cannot deny that Salman and I had an instant connection when we met. I thought he was a striking personality."
Salman was asked who he thinks of as the most beautiful woman in the world and guess what he replied -
"Whoever I have gone out with or I am going out with now, is the one."
Perfect reply that nailed both Aishwarya and Katrina. Wonder if that caused a little twitch in Katrina's eyebrow. Enjoy more images of katrina

Computers can cause neck pain

Computers can cause neck pain
Islamabad: Sitting in front of computers for prolonged hours may cause or aggravate neck pain, at least in teenage school going children.

Research in the past has reported a high prevalence of headaches and neck pain among adolescents. Sitting for lengthy periods in fixed postures such as at computer terminals may result in neck pain and headaches, BBC reported.

To explore the association between computer use and headaches/neck pain among adolescent school students, researchers from Australia followed 1073 high-school students in South Africa. The researchers assessed duration of computer use and reports of headache and neck pain among the study participants who were 16 years old on average. Nearly half the students attended schools that used computers.

Of the students enrolled in schools with computers, 43 per cent used computers for nine hours or more per week. The researchers noted similar duration of use in just six per cent of the students enrolled in schools without computers.

No clear association could be found between higher computer use and headaches. By contrast, neck pain was more common among students who reported longer hours of computer use, regardless of computer availability at school.

Among the students who spent 5 or fewer hours using a computer each week, about 16 per cent reported neck pain; among students reporting 25 to 30 hours of computer use a week, nearly 48 per cent reported neck pain.

The above findings have confirmed the need to educate school students about their posture while using computers. The news
